The Desk
Kauri Honkakoski Company (FI)
The Desk både underholder, engagerer og rører publikum. Og vækker tanker om højaktuelle verdenspolitiske emner.

“The Desk was born out of my desire to understand communities where our truth is truer than their truth, my word weighs more than yours, and where dogma is as powerful as faith.
While making the show I was touched by the human search for a higher meaning, the need to belong, the faith in a better version of oneself, and the dream of a more beautiful reality. And I was afraid of where these could lead us.
The Desk premiered in spring 2017, at a time when the far-right was rising in Europe and the presidents of world super-powers seemed to behave like dictators.
In 2024 the show exists in a different moment in the society and global politics. How are we doing with us-versus-them mindsets today?
I invite you to watch the show with openness to your own associations.”

“The time in the cult broke me and it has taken me a long time to heal from the experience. Making this show was one of the ways to process and understand what had happened.”
